Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has tasked Muslims in the state to live according to the will of Allah and use their wealth to promote the religion of Islam.

The governor gave the charge while speaking at the N1.5 billion Fundraising for the construction of International Islamic Centre of the Muslim Community of Oyo State held at the association’s permanent site, opposite Aerodrome G.R.A, Samonda, Ibadan.

The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to Oyo State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli, emphasised the need for Muslims to teach their wards the way of Allah and give them both Islamic and Western education.

He admonished all Muslims across the state to support the community, by contributing their quota towards the realisation of the project.

Ajimobi enjoined the people of Oyo to continue to support all the programmes and policies of government for the state’s overall development.

The Chairman of Oyo State Muslim Community, Alhaji Kunle Sanni, appealed to wealthy people in the society to desist from spending extravagantly, instead they should spend on projects that would benefit humanity.

He lauded the efforts of Governor Ajimobi in approving the allocation of land to the community as well as his unflinching support at all times.

The guest lecturer, Alhaji Habibullahi Buhari, spoke extensively on the virtues of spending in the path of Allah, urging Muslims to use their wealth to assist the poor people in the society and spend to uplift the religion of Allah.
