It is the beginning of the month and as the year ebbs towards the yuletide more events are hosted to remind us not to just breathe but to actually live.
Last week was about fashion and books, this week events being hosted takes us to the world of arts with its intricate beauty in imagination and the world of poetry with its play on words. Here are events on the radar this weekend.
Art X Live 2018 Is here!!!
The International art festival is here again designed to show creative contemporary art and this year’s event is, even more, promising for art enthusiasts as there will be a lot of artists exhibiting during the show. There are other interesting lineups added to make this year’s event more interesting and entertaining.
Exhibitors to showcase their brilliant works include Akachukwu Chukwuemeka-Nigeria, Alimi Adewale-Nigeria, Aboudia-Cote D’Ivoire, Amadou Sanogo-Mali, Collin Sekajugo-Uganda, Chike Obeagu- Nigeria and other artists.
Art X Live will also engage the audience’s senses with a fusion of music and art.

Reawakening the magic in words with Lagos Poetry Festival 2018
The 4th edition of the Lagos International Poetry Festival kicks off on the 31st of October at Freedom Park, Lagos Island. This year’s festival draws an array of exciting poets, writers and artists from 15 countries across the world.
Headliners include Kwame Dawes, 2018 Forward Prize winner, Danez Smith, South African poet and activist Lebo Mashile, and a special guest appearance by Niyi Osundare.
LIPFest 2018 examines the growing importance of vigilance in a post-truth era with the theme, “Wide Awake”.
The four-day festival will include poetry, spoken word and music performances, riveting conversations, workshops and masterclasses.
