Why Beyonce’s New Spanish Single Is A Smart Move
Queen Beyonce Knowles shocked us all last week when she announced a new track on Instagram.
She joined with J Balvin to remix “Mi Gente” and the track has been played incessantly on streaming platforms ever since.
The star has been on a break, especially since having her twins Sir and Rumi Carter. This unexpected move by the star is good for her career and here’s why:
She announced the remix of “Mi Gente” on Instagram and the caption made it clear that Beyonce intended to use the proceeds from the song for good. She said:
“I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the other affected Caribbean islands.”
She added the page address of a web page for people to visit and see the nonprofits she supports. Her website also has a section dedicated to her philanthropic efforts, especially towards those recently affected by the recent hurricanes and earthquakes that have damaged many nations. Mi Gente is already performing well all around the world and this means that she may end up donating a huge amount of money.
Smash Spanish Song
Beyonce has always been interested in having a hit single in another language. Singing in Spanish allows her to connect with her huge Spanish-speaking fan base all around the globe. Mi Gente, judging by the way it’s going, may just be one of the top hits on the Hot 100 in about a week or two or fly to the top like Despacito did if things work out well.
Pon de Charts
Beyonce’s Lemonade album gave of strong messages and ended up in a worldwide tour and a handful of Grammys. However, that era has come to an end and it may be a while before she produces something else. Mi Gente being a big hit will put her back on the charts and give her ample time, if it stays up for months, to work on something else.
