The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Adejare Adeboye has advocated for good neighbourliness in the nation in the New Year so that the nation would enjoy relative peace.

Adeboye, at the Throne of Grace, RCCG Headquarters, Ebute-Metta for the New Year thanksgiving described 2017 as a year of surprises that God would relocate those that are in the habit of oppressing others.

Adeboye who spoke through the Assistant General Overseer, Admin. & Personnel, Johnson Odesola, said it was high time the government do something to ameliorate the incessant problem in Kaduna bordering on killing and maiming before it escalates to the type of Boko Haram problem the nation is nursing today.

“This was how the problem of Boko Haram started and the government felt it was a small thing until the sect becomes a thorn in the flesh of Nigerians and the nation at large.’’

Adeboye also called on the government to carefully address the agitation for the State of Biafra and the destruction being caused by militants in the Niger Delta.

Also, the presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo has urged Christians to obey God’s word to be successful in the New Year.

Oyedepo at the cross over night service to usher in 2017, said children of God who obey God’s commandments succeed in hard times.

“In 2017, the quality of life of any Christian is dependent on the level of his obedience to God.’’

The presiding Bishop stated that Christians do not need to make noise to be relevant in the society, adding that they were distinguished by being obedient.

Similarly, the Primate of all Nigeria, (Anglican Communion), Most Rev Nicholas Okoh urged Nigerians to make God their guide in 2017 so that He can take them through all the turbulents the nation might experience this year.

He called on the political leadership to work harder to create employment for the youths warning that there are already signs of bumps and turbulence which has been afflicting the nation.

Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry in Enugu State has advised President Muhammadu Buhari on leadership in the New Year.
In his New Year message, he advised the president to tackle the challenges facing the country, saying “many Nigerians are suffering.

“Though the President is trying on corruption and security, Nigerians are hungry; they want to see more changes.

“There is the need to assist businessmen and women in their businesses.”

How a man can call himself “reverend” baffles me.

The zika virus which has been around since 1947 and transmitted primarily by mosquito, after its wildly unprecedented outbreak last year in Brazil from where it spread to some other countries including the USA, despite a very few, lone documented cases in the last 8 years or so, was only investigated and officially confirmed and declared FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, in 2016 (August), by the medical and scientific community, specifically the USA Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to also be A SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE.

Earthquakes apparently increased in 2016 but were downplayed by the media.

“April 2016 – GEOLOGY – Seismic tension continues to mount in the volatile region of the planet known as the Ring of Fire, where more than 90% of the world’s earthquakes occur, and more than 81% of the largest magnitude earthquakes occur. THE EXTRAORDINARY AND PRECIPITOUS RISE IN THE NUMBER OF LARGE MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKES is both astounding and alarming.”

“Five strong earthquakes have jolted Asia in the last several days. There have been 16 major earthquakes measuring 6.0 or higher in April (2016) alone and nine in the last seven days. The two biggest in this unprecedented wave of serious shakers just happened over the weekend in Ecuador with a mammoth 7.8 earthquake killing at least 77 people and a 7.0 in Kumamoto on Kyushu Island in southern Japan where three large earthquakes in three days have struck killing at least 41 people. Within the last two weeks, the tiny South Pacific island of Vanuatu alone has been hit with five major quakes. Four days ago a powerful 6.9 quake hit Myanmar killing two. And now with seven major shakers just in the last 96 hours alone killing at least 120 people, both laypeople and scientists alike are growing more concerned about what may be coming next.”

As for natural disasters getting worse as Divine judgments: e.g. Indonesia is a country where widespread, frequent and government-backed open discrimination, killings, violence, imprisonment, arson, abuse and all manner of religion-based hate crimes have been and are perpetuated against Christians for years. The new and first ever Christian governor of a state was arrested and jailed in 2016 and is being tried for blasphemy. See the year Indonesia had in 2016:
“2016 the worst for natural disasters in Indonesia in the last decade.

In the period between January 1 and November 11, 2016, 1 985 natural disasters were reported in Indonesia, THE HIGHEST NUMBER SEEN IN THE LAST TEN YEARS, according to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB). According to the agency report, out of 1 985 total disasters, 659 were floods which induced 572 whirlwinds and 485 landslide incidents. The natural disasters have affected 2.52 million people, caused 375 deaths, and 383 injuries. The worst year, after 2016, was 2014, as 1 967 natural disasters were reported.”

    Major war averted:
“ For the first time in a quarter-century, the prospect of war—real war, war between the major powers—will be on the agenda of Western leaders when they meet at the NATO Summit in Warsaw, Poland, on July 8 and 9. Dominating the agenda in Warsaw (aside, of course, from the “Brexit” vote in the UK) will be discussion of plans to reinforce NATO’s “eastern flank”—the arc of former Soviet partners stretching from the Baltic states to the Black Sea that are now allied with the West but fear military assault by Moscow. Until recently, the prospect of such an attack was given little credence in strategic circles, but now many in NATO believe a major war is possible and that robust defensive measures are required.” THE WAR THEY WERE PREPARING FOR DID NOT HAPPEN. GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND FOR SO MANY OTHER NEWS REPORTS ON THE REALITY THAT THE US, NATO AND RUSSIA WERE ALL PLANNING SERIOUSLY TO GO TO WAR IN 2016.

As for Nigeria, whether God would really bless an administration/government that hates His people, slaughters Christians, somewhere or other in the country, it seems daily; puts more value on the lives of cows and rams than Christians (and Southerners, and Shi’ites), burns down His places of worship, a president (and governors and NASS members, etc) who watches, folds its arms, keeps silent publicly, leading one to conclude that he actively encourages and empowers in private, even as abductions and forceful, fake conversions and forced ‘marriages’ and defilement of schoolgirls forcibly and suddenly uprooted and separated from their loving parents, families, friends, community and life they knew, virgin under-age daughters of Zion by a paedophile emir in his very home state take place, and by others of his religion and ethnicity not only in the northern part of the country but from the South away to the north; a president, following the planned agenda and script of others who preceded him and of his ethnic and religious brethren, to islamise Nigeria at all costs, sneak Nigeria into all manner of openly islamic and islamist organisations and bodies, use public funds to promote, found, establish islamist and islamic institutions, causes, agenda and the religion. The list goes on. Is this the government and president that God would allow to take the glory for His causing things to get better before the end of 2016? God can and does change His mind when men do evil. He can pronounce and promise to bless a person or family or nation/people, but if the intended blessee sins against Him, commits wickedness or evil, He usually recants and withdraws His blessing and turns it to a curse. e.g the prophet Eli and his sons/family, and various times on Israel in Israel’s history in the Bible. The reverse is also the case i.e if someone cursed by God for evil and sins repents sincerely and wholeheartedly and humbles themselves before God, God also repents of the curse and judgment He had earlier spoken and determined to do.
