Ajiran community honours philanthropist, wife with chieftaincy titles
They were conferred with the title, Gbe’Koniyi and Yeye Gbe’koniyi of Ajiranland during the 25th coronation anniversary of the monarch.
The monarch, who revealed his long association with the beneficiary, described him as a giver that has continued to upgrade children’s knowledge.
Akinloye stressed that the new chief was given the honour to bring him closer to the community and continue the good work.
He advised him not to rest on his laurel.
The traditional ruler, who was crowned on October 23, 1993, appreciated God for his reign, saying in 25 years on the throne, the town has overcome challenges to succeed on many fronts.
Expressing appreciation for the new title, Balogun, a former employee of the defunct Nigeria Airways, commended the monarch for recognising and rewarding their contributions to the growth of the town.
Noting that the honour was an encouragement to do more, Balogun promised to give scholarships to students in the community and rev up other charitable efforts.
He urged wealthy individuals in the country to give back to society to help make the country better for all.
His wife, Nicoleta, echoed similar sentiments. She said the titles showed they had made impacts on the community.
