APC chieftain tasks Ayade on agric revolution in Cross River
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River, Cletus Obun, has called on Governor Ben Ayade to focus on his Agricultural Revolution in 2020 to further boost the state’s economy.
Obun gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Calabar.
The politician, while commenting on his expectations for the new year from the governor, said there were abundant agricultural potentialities to make the state great.
His words: “I expect the governor to make his Agricultural Revolution a reality this year.
“We have not seen the impact of his Agricultural Revolution; we want to see it now.
“I want to see Ogoja rice flood the market, not only in Cross River but across the country. “
He stressed the need for the revitalisation of Ijegun and Bansara rice mills in northern part of the state.
“The government should also create roads in the rural areas to enable rice farmers to transport their product to the mills without any problems,” he added.
