Arthur Nwankwo denies link with pro-Biafra group
Elder statesman and Chancellor of Eastern Mandate Union (EMU), Dr. Arthur Agwuncha Nwankwo has denied any relationship with a new pro-Biafra agitation group, Reformed Indigenous People of Biafra (RE-IPOB).
Reacting to reports that he had been nominated among other prominent Igbo to negotiate on behalf of the group with the Federal Government, Nwankwo described the development as unacceptable and ridiculous.
In a statement made available to The Guardian in Enugu yesterday, Nwankwo said: “My attention has been drawn to a news item titled ‘RE-IPOB names new leader, lists eminent persons to negotiate with Federal Government’, published by many tabloids on August 30, where I was mentioned as one of the eminent Igbo personalities to negotiate on behalf of the Federal Government.
