Dankwambo tasks traditional rulers on peace, security
Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has urged traditional rulers to maintain peace and security in their domains, by reporting any person whose activities are capable of disrupting law, order and peace of the state.
Dankwambo made the call during the presentation of staff of office to the Emir of Pindiga, Alhaji Mohammed Seyoji Ahmed at Pindiga town in Akko local government area of the state.
The governor said the call has become necessary considering the need to maintain peace as political activities increase.
He said government will not relent in its responsibilities of protecting lives and properties of the people of the state, promising to ensure the expansion of the Pindiga Water Scheme to reach more villages in the emirate.
In his acceptance speech, the Emir thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve his people again as Emir, after he was deposed for nine years (2004 – 2013).
While assuring him of unflinching support to the administration, Ahmed called on everyone to join hands for peaceful and harmonious coexistence in the emirate and the state as a whole.
