The Zonal Controller of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Benjamin Ewuga, has vowed to fully implement Federal Government directive by closing down any filling station that is not ready to sell product at the approved pump price of N86.50 per litre.

Ewuga, who sounded the warning in Makurdi, yesterday, stressed that those not willing to sell it at the approved price should better not lift the product.

He noted that government is employing all avenues to make the product available, adding that his office will start clamping down on the unlicensed filling stations.

The DPR Zonal Controller disclosed that Benue and Nasarawa States are dominated with independent marketers that are usually responsible for the shortage of the product, saying that even, as they are very critical in the distribution chain, violation of laid down rules cannot be tolerated.
