Glo Laffta fest in fifth Lagos show with Gordons, Salvador, others

Glo Laffta fest, Nigeria’s biggest comedy show sponsored by telecommunications giant, Globacom, makes its fifth coming to Lagos this weekend with a show scheduled for the KFA Event Centre by Jakande Estate’s First Gate, Ajah.

The show had previously held in Ikeja, FESTAC, Victoria Island and Ikorodu, and has equally been staged in most major cities of the country including Port Harcourt, Abuja, Enugu, Owerri, Warri, Yenegoa, Calabar, Uyo, Ibadan, Benin, Ijebu Ode, Kaduna, Abeokuta, Kubwa, Ikorodu, Suleja Kano, Anyigba, Lokoja, Onitsha and Makurdi.

The Ajah show is billed for  4pm and will feature some of Africa’s best comedians like Salvador from Uganda;  Bovi Ugboma, Godwin Komone, popularly known as Gordons, Seyi Law, De Don and MC Tagwaye.

While the duo of star  actresses, Juliet Ibrahim and Mercy Johnson will compere the show, Nollywood legends, Richard Mofe-Damijo and Kanayo O. Kanayo and two notable actors in the Yoruba genre of Nollywood, Odunlade Adekola and Bolaji Amusan will also attend as celebrity guests.

Expressing excitement about the show which has successfully run for 26 weeks, Bovi, said: “I am going to be on Glo Laffta Fest Stage in Ajah live on Sunday, together with some of the continent’s best comedians. Make it a date with us. Trust me; you don’t want to miss this!”

Self-styled ‘Bishop of Osusu Ministry Worldwide’, Gordons, in the same vein enthused that he was already turbo-charged to release fun as never before on Sunday.” I call on fun lovers to find their way to that venue for an evening to remember”, he said.

Organisers of the show, Globacom, also disclosed in a press statement issued on Friday that “we treated the people of Ajah area of Lagos to an unforgettable evening of music entertainment when we took the Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour to the same venue. This time, it is comedy like they have never seen it before. Our prospective and existing subscribers should keep a date for a time to remember.”

The company informed subscribers who have used up to N2,000 credit in the last one month to text ‘LOL’ with the location name to the short code 240; for example, “LOL Ajah” to 240 to attend the show. Those who do not meet this criterion but wish to attend the show nonetheless are required to go to the event venue with N2000 to buy airtime for their own use consequent upon which they will be entitled to entry tickets.
