The standard-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has appealed to Orhionmwon people to vote for him on Saturday.

He made the appeal as the PDP made its final campaign tour of Orhionmwon Local Council area, his place of origin.

The candidate also spoke at separate rallies in Okogbo, Oza and Omolua Igbanke, where he urged the people to be committed to voting for him because he is their son. Ize-Iyamu hails from Iguododo community.

He added that this was the first time that an indigene of Orhionmwon would be given an opportunity to aspire to the highest office in the state.

Ize-Iyamu said only uncommon and passionate support for him could redress the wrong that has been done to the community by successive administrations. He deployed the neglect of Orhionmwon despite being the largest local council area in the state.

According to him, government has not made substantial investment to improve the infrastructure, economic and human capital development of the area. The candidate described the neglect as unfortunate, especially being a leading oil-producing area, which also has the largest forest reserve in the state.

Ize-Iyamu said that he was not only seeking their support as their own, but also as the best qualified among the contestants.

The chairman of Igbanke Council of Enigies, Isaac Ogbeiwi Uwaifo, who spoke on behalf of the monarchs, said Ize-Iyamu is a worthy son they are proud of.

He assured him of their support, a gesture that had earlier been displayed by the Odionza of Oza, when he held a rally at Oza.

The Association of Igbanke Pastors had earlier given him similar support and prayer. The PDP state’s chairman, Dan Orbih joined in appealing for the maximum support of the people.
