Kano Police assures residents of adequate security
The Kano State Police Command has assured residents of the state of adequate security during the Easter celebrations.
The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Magaji Majiya, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Kano that the command had put in place security measures to ensure a hitch-free Easter celebration in the state.
According to him, the command has deployed security personnel to various places of worship and recreational centres in order to enhance security during the celebration.
In addition, he said the command had deployed armed policemen and plain-cloth security personnel to strategic places within the city to keep vigil during the period.
Majiya advised residents to be extra vigilant and report any suspected character or movement to security agents for prompt action.
He said the advice was necessary because security was a collective responsibility of all citizens.
He said that the ban on unauthorised gathering or meetings in the state was still in force.
He warned that any person or group of persons found violating the order would be arrested and prosecuted.
“We wish to use this opportunity to wish our Christian brothers and sisters a happy Easter celebration in advance,’’ Majiya said.
