Ladoja, Ondo governor candidate, Fasua want prayers for economic recovery
Former governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, governorship candidate of the Citizens Popular Party (CPP) in Ondo, Prince Peter Oyeleye Fasua and a group, the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN), Lagos chapter yesterday urged Nigerians to pray for a quick recovery of the country’s economy.
Ladoja in his Eid-el Kabir message assured the people that this period would soon pass and the nation would be great again.
He enjoined Nigerians not to be discouraged by the hardship caused by recession.
Fasua, who spoke to journalists during a courtesy visit on Senator Bode Olajumoke described the Sallah period as a moment for sober reflection on the socio-economic and political problems facing the country.
The governorship candidate said: “I want to appeal to my Muslim brothers and sisters to see this glorious moment as another opportunity to beseech Allah to visit Nigeria, touch the hearts of our political leaders and give them direction.”
The Chairman of MMPN, Alhaji AbdulKabir Alabi in a Sallah message urged the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to fulfill its campaign promises to the people, adding that Prophet Ibrahim did not break his covenant with Allah even when it was difficult for him.
