Lagos ICAN Leads Campaign On Maternal Child Mortality
Despite yesterday’s early downpour, members of the Lagos and District Society, Institute of Chattered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), staged a 5KM charity walk on fitness and improving maternal childbirth. The event is a prelude to the official visit of the national president of ICAN to the district.
Tagged Fitness and Improving Maternal Healthcare, the corporate social responsibility walk, which commenced from the BCIS Boat Club to the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge and back to the boat club, attracted chattered accountants and members of the public, who also took part in a work out session, with free medical tests.
In a chat with The Guardian, the Chairman of Lagos and District Society of ICAN Joshua Ohioma said the initiative was aimed at promoting healthy living among members, as well as help create awareness on maternal child mortality in the country.
