Governor Seyi Makinde has asked the people to join hands with his government to make Oyo State greater in 2020.

In his New Year address, Makinde said he was determined to make the state a hub for education tourism in the country.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, quoted the governor as saying that the ongoing revamp of the education system and other policies of his administration would yield positive results in the New Year.

He stated that the state government had put in a lot to revive the health sector, ensure maximum security of lives and property as well as lift the people from poverty to prosperity.

Besides, Governor Kayode Fayemi has implored youth corps members posted to the state to prioritise service, integration and shun unauthorised trips.

In his goodwill message in Ado-Ekiti, he counselled them against social vices, noting that they were capable of destroying their lofty dreams.

He also charged the corps members to enjoy the hospitality of their host communities by respecting their traditions, cultures, values and norms.

In his advocacy, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku implored the people to sustain the prevailing peace in Taraba.

Recalling the security challenges the state went through in the outgone year, he urged the people to thank God for making the entire region overcome the menace of communal crises, kidnapping, farmers, herdsmen clashes, unprovoked aggression and other criminal acts that threatened the very foundation of the state.

He stressed that Taraba needs peace to grow and develop.

To Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta in his message, the sustainable development of the state is assured through his administration’s “Stronger Delta’ initiative.

A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, enjoined the people to remain united and focused.

Moreover, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has applauded the resilience and tolerance of Nigerians.

In his New Year communication, he expressed hope that the socio-economic problems besetting the nation would ease this year.

And from Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong comes the assurance to Nigerians that the year 2020 holds great prospects and hope for accelerated development.

In his New Year message to the people of Tin City, he reiterated that his ‘Rescue Administration’ would settle down this year to pursue its three-point policy thrust to consolidate on its past efforts.

He therefore charged the people to build on the prevailing peace so as to make it easy for investors to bring in resources and knowledge to create jobs and other economic opportunities.

In his festive wordings, Governor Seriake Dickson urged the people of Bayelsa State to remain thankful to God for preserving the state in peace despite the myriad of challenges that it experienced last year.

In his New Year message signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson in Yenagoa yesterday, Dickson said despite the setbacks, 2019 was a year “marked with progress and development in Bayelsa as the Restoration agenda was further implemented in different sectors of the state’s economy.”

Also yesterday, Governor Nyesom Wike called for unity and reconciliation to bring rapid development to Rivers State.

In a New Year message signed by his Special Adviser on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakudu, the governor charged the people to deliberately work towards unity and reconciliation to ensure rapid growth.

He said though the outgone year had several challenges, he, however, encouraged the people to march into 2020 with renewed hope for greater accomplishments.
