Omotosho plans befitting Rotary Centre in FCT
The newly elected Governor of Rotary District 9125, Asokoro, Abuja, Dr. Mike Omotosho has promised to build a modern Rotary Centre that would increase the district’s activities and contributions to Rotary Foundation, encourage more country development projects.
Meanwhile, all arrangements have been concluded for a formal inaugural of Dr. Omotosho as the newly elected governor, Rotary District 9125, come Saturday.
Dr. Omotosho, a phamacist, is taking over as Governor of the district from Tolu Omosola whose tenure has come to an end having served his twelve months tenure.
A statement from the Public Relation’s Manager to the new governor, Tunde Bakare explained that Dr. Mike Omotosho is known to have consistently extended kind gestures in different empowerment programmes to Nigerians through his Foundation.
“Sustainable Health International (SHI), the organisation where Dr. Mike Omotosho currently serves as Chief Oversight Officer is also involved in sundry humanitarian activities. It is on record that SHI has significantly contributed to the widespread distribution of sustainable healthcare delivery especially in areas as it relates to reversing Malaria, Pneumonia, HIV/AIDS.’’
According to Bakare, it is already on records that SHI has impacted on no less than 2500 Nigerians in this regard.
He stated that Omotosho who was Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Kwara State during the last general elections hoped to leverage on the vision of past Rotary leaders to increase the number of clubs and members across the district, increase the district’s contribution to the Rotary Foundation as well as to leave a legacy of the Rotary House among others.
Speaking on the theme of this year’s Rotary outing- ‘Be a Gift to the World’’,Dr. Omotosho said, ‘’in our country today, change has come and if this change would be allowed, Nigeria will thrive, children will grow in safety, get good education and improve their lives, potable water would be available and everyone will be the better for it”
He added that with a mindset of selfless service, corruption will be reduced and more resources will be emancipated to alleviate poverty in the land.
