PDP chieftain slumps in Osun court
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Fatai Oyedele, yesterday slumped in the court in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Oyedele, popularly called Jagunaso by his admirers, was brought to court with two other suspects, Segun Adekilekun and Sikiru Lawal, by the police to answer charges on electoral related-offences.
The trio were arrested shortly before the governorship election re-run of September 27, 2018 on allegation that they were “buying Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).”
When the court clerk called their names and were about enter the dock, Oyedele suddenly slumped and became unconscious.
The other suspects quickly rushed to save him.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. Olusegun Ayilara, immediately ordered that he (Oyedele) should be given a chair to sit on.
He subsequently ruled that the court would not take the plea of a dying person and adjourned the matter to November 23, 2018.
