Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites, yesterday, accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of cooking up lies to deceive the public and forestall their planned procession last Friday.

The Shiites maintained that contrary to allegation that the agency uncovered plot by members of Boko Haram sect to infiltrate their group and cause havoc during their planned nationwide procession, they were well fortified against any infiltration by Boko Haram or any other terrorist organisation.

President of the Media Forum of the organisation, Ibrahim Musa, told The Guardian in Abuja, that the DSS allegation was a grand deception to thwart the group’s procession, stressing that Boko Haram cannot infiltrate the group.

Musa declared: “I will like to state categorically that IMN cannot be infiltrated by anybody who is not a member of the movement. We have our own guards, that is those who take care of security when we are conducting our processions.

“We are not just people who are not organised, we are people who are organised and we have been conducting our processions for the past 40 years. So, for the DSS to come now and say that Boko Haram will infiltrate us, we don’t agree with that.”

The DSS had at weekend reported a foiled attempt by Boko Haram to bomb major cities during the Eid-el Fitri celebration. They also claimed the terrorists planned to infiltrate the IMN.
