Suspended NHIS boss denies suing Presidency
The suspended Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Prof. Yusuf Usman, has denied suing the Presidency over his suspension from office.
The embattled Usman, who spoke through his lawyer, Mr. Uche Val Obi (SAN), in a statement yesterday, said there was no iota of truth in the story.
Obi said his client rather approached the Federal High Court vide an originating summon filed on October 29, 2018 in suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1220/2018 with him as people while NHIS, Minister of Health and the Attorney-General of the Federation were named as defendants.
Consequently, he said that he would suspend the pending suit to ensure no interference with the work and findings of the panel.
