‘Technology makes old building roof restoration, maintenance possible’
Amid improvement in building technology and construction, experts have developed a new solution that tackles issues around linking aluminium roof thereby alleviating the challenge of maintenance in buildings.
Accordingly, the measure is expected to reduce huge sums of money, which are invested in changing old roofs that have degenerated into linking during the raining season in homes.
The founder, Plusworld Group, Mr John Igbaifua, who spoke on the new technology in an interview with newsmen in Lagos, lamented that people often spend avoidable and unnecessary expenses in an effort to renovate building roofs due to ignorance of the latest technology in that field of construction.
Igbaifua noted that the world has moved from the era of pull-down and re-construct, which according to him was a waste of time and money, stressing that such could be done faster, easier and cheaper with new technological innovation.
On the advantage of the new cutting-edge roof restoration and maintenance work, he explained that it’s a process that knocked off close to 60 per cent of the total cost of the renovation exercise.
He said, “Experienced roofers are the pioneers in the field in the country and we give 100 per cent adherence and compliance to health and safety of both the workers and the work environment, with well-established safety policies which measure up to both local and international standards. We started the roof restoration for about 10 years now and I can tell you that we have roofs that we have restored close to 10 years ago that are still standing”.
He stated that beyond being cost-effective, Nutech solution helps to protect the environment by reducing the carbon footprint and Carbon dioxide (CO2) emission into the atmosphere.
“The beauty of the roof coating is that it has the ability to reflect 35 to 90 per cent of the heat rays that hit your roof back to the atmosphere thereby making the inner rooms cooler. So, it is not just the aesthetics but also the cooling aspect of the products. The technology is strong, durable and can withstand our harsh weather conditions. Most of the places that we have worked in are actually areas where people have tried other solutions and 90 per cent of the products we worked on are old roofing sheets. It is like rubber, you can neither tear nor break it,” he said.
