Alaafin of Oyo lauds his courage
A former Governor of the old Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa, has explained that Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, is eminently qualified to contest the 2019 presidential election.

Musa said: “It is the right of every Nigerian to aspire to the office of the president of the country. Anybody from any section of the country, who has met the constitutional requirements, could vie for the presidency. There should be no restriction, because the country is in the need of a right leader.

“Whoever emerges would be the president of Nigeria and not president of a section. Fayose is exercising his right and it is wrong for anybody to vilify him for declaring his ambition. The man is bold, courageous and has put the President Muhammadu Buhari government on its toes. Anybody who has the interest should come out.”

On the clamour for restructuring, Musa said the ongoing agitations had heightened due to the insecurity, poverty, hunger and inequality in the county.

Also, the Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, commended Fayose’s courage for providing a strong opposition and putting the Federal Government on its toes.

While Musa spoke in Ondo at the wedding of the daughter of former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, the monarch made his commendation at the fifth convocation of the Afe Babalola University, ABUAD, in Ado-Ekiti.

The monarch lauded Fayose’s pedigree and landmark achievements in the state.

“Fayose is bold and fearless, he has put the Buhari government on its toes. All efforts to use the Federal Government agencies to silence him have not forced him to shut his mouth. Opposition is an ingredient of a virile democracy and the Federal Government should be tolerant of the opponents.

“Even where others have tactically withdrawn into their shells, Fayose has remained the lone voice. I salute him, Okunrin takuntakun. If you drive through the state capital, you are likely to miss your way because of the legacy projects that have changed the face of the town,” he said.
