‘NCP will redeem Nigeria from poverty’
The National Conscience Party (NCP) has blamed the adverse socio-economic and political challenges in the country on the administrative style of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party also flayed the erstwhile ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for wasting 16 years in government without impacting meaningfully to the growth and development of the country.
Speaking during his declaration to contest the 2019 presidential election in Ondo State yesterday, an aspirant, Dr Thomas-Wilson Ikubese described the present situation of the nation as a total embarrassment.
He however assured his audience that if the NCP is allowed to rule “it would bring Nigeria out of the woods.” He said the current condition berates Nigeria in the comity of nations, saying, “The ruling APC and PDP both failed the masses as their styles had allowed chronic poverty had overbearing effects among the citizens of the country.”
His words: “Nigeria ought to be the pride of the black race, but today, we have become a global embarrassment.” He pledged that if given the chance in 2019, he would turn the misfortune besetting the nation.”
Recounting how his suggestions to the incumbent administration on what Nigeria could do to move ahead and transformed jettisoned, Ikubese said the people at the helm of affairs appear to be bereft of the necessary ideas that could take us to our promised land.
Said he, “Seeing that our present crop of political leadership might never implement these recommendations, I have decided to run for the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, so that I can put machineries in place for the actualisation of these recommendations, which will berth the new Nigeria of our dreams.”
The NCP stalwart urged the youths in the country to rise up to the challenge and vie for elective positions in order to wrestle the nation from the those he called “the money-bag politicians.”
“I hereby call on our youths, which form 70% of the Nigerian Population, to rise up and join me in this civil revolution through the ballot box come 2019,rather than recycle the current political brigades,” Ikubese said.
The state Chairman of NCP, Mr. David Olasuyi, said the party has manifestoes to cater for the needs of the masses. He also assured that Ikubese has what it takes to lead Nigeria to a greater height.
Olasuyi added that NCP is poised for good governance come 2019, “The betterment and goodness of the masses is the major aim of this party when formed by our very own Chief Gani Fawehinmi “we are ready to take over power come 2019 because we have present a man of impeccable qualities and experience to lead us.”
