Waje releases Ominiknowest Video
Award winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, Waje has dropped the visuals of her song Ominiknowest. Produced by EKelly and directed by Clarence Peters, the video, which is shot in black and white shows Waje at her fiercest, hitting back at critics. The video has Waje take on different personas from fiery Malcolm X to sultry Marilyn Monroe and Janet Jackson, which have touched different generations through their music and political thought.
“I dropped the song Ominiknowest in 2013, but the video came out last month. My teeming fans have been asking for it. Actually Ominiknowest means having a false perception about knowing everything about other people. Some people would call it ‘over sabi’ or ‘ITK.’ I did this song for this group of people and the video is a must watch for those who haven’t seen,” she said.
The brand ambassador, who was also featured on CNN’s African Voices where she spoke about her mission to help homeless kids in Nigeria and her concern for the gild-child, disclosed that her African Woman Project aims at helping less privileged girls whose parents could not send to school, to get education and be educated.
“I take this seriously because I am on the stand that women should get equal opportunities to education and good positions in the society.”
On her passion for music, she said, “I decided to take music as a career because it has always been my dream. Music is one thing that has been a major influence in my life right from my childhood days; it has been my passion, my pain and my joy.”
Waje who is loved for her powerful vocals said everything ignites her creativity and influences the kind of songs she does, “my life, my environment, people I have come in contact with at one point or the other, our country, everything around me basically.”
