She stated that the Police Taekwondo Association have concluded plans to ensure the IGP tournament lived up to expectation, adding that more teams have indicated interest in the championship.
“The focus of the IGP Taekwondo Championship is to improve martial arts in Nigeria and help develop the sport at the grassroots level.
“The IGP championship in another way will give credibility to the Police Force. This implies the Police now having the opportunity to mingle with other teams that are not members of the force. This will help change any wrong impression civilians have of the Nigeria Police. It is also another avenue to enhance the health and fitness of athletes.”
Ebikefe thanked the matron of the Police Taekwondo Association, Abiola Awote, for supporting the growth of the sport in Nigeria.
