Wolfsburg may beat Arsenal to Osimhen’s deal
BUNDESLIGA club, Wolfsburg, now look set to beat English Premier League outfit, Arsenal, to record-breaking top scorer at the recent FIFA U17 World Cup, Victor Osimhen, according to his advisers.
Africanfootball.com reports that Osimhen’s agents are currently in Germany on the invitation of Wolfsburg, adding that the FIFA U-17 World Cup record goal scorer is impressed with the facilities and ambitions of the German club even though Arsenal have tabled a more tempting offer financially.
“Victor likes what he has seen in Germany and the club really want to have him,” said one of his representatives, Ariyo Igbayilola
“If it were all about the money, Arsenal are far ahead, but we have to think first and foremost about the boy’s career, every other thing can follow.
“We don’t have a formal agreement with either club yet because the boy is not yet 18, but it is looking more and more likely we may settle for Wolfsburg.
“But as I have always maintained, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and his family have to be taken along in whatever decision we finally take because he is a national asset,” he said.
Another English cub, Tottenham, was the first to enquire about the lad, but their interest seems to have waned.
Reports claim that even after the visit to Wolfsburg, Osimhen’s heart seems to favour a move to the Emirates, while his agents prefer the German club.
