Back to school with energy and concentration
After the long break, students are back to academic work, with majority of them eager to resume. Although the aim of the holiday is to enable the children to enjoy a well-deserved rest, some of them actually engaged in one activity or the other that required too much energy and concentration.
While it is not possible to totally abstain from work during holidays, as there are bound to be house chores and other engagements, which are recommended to help children become responsible and strong, the idea of going on holiday is to ensure that children have adequate rest and a change of scene and routine to refresh and prepare them for another round of academic session.
But how many children really rested and had fun during holidays? Parents would do well to ensure that the purpose of children embarking on holidays is achieved. But this they can only do by having the right understanding and conception of what holiday is and the purpose it is meant to serve.
Holiday is not the time to burden or put unnecessary pressure on children by stressing them with rigorous activities.
Indeed, parents have the duty to ensure their children rest and are well taken care of during holiday.
One way of doing this is through adequate preparation and planning, even before the holiday.
It is not out of place for parents to start putting in place plans for their children’s next vacation weeks and even months before the actual vacation. The benefits in this?
First, it will enable parents do detailed planning, which helps to factor in all circumstances, including the monetary aspect. This way, there is enough time to fine-tune and make changes, even at the last minute, if required.
