Divine protection guaranteed! – Part 2

Last week, we started on our Divine Protection series where we looked at faith as one of the most critical ingredients to securing our divine protection, especially in these perilous times. This week we would examine the blood of Jesus as another covenant weapon through a graphic illustration from the book of Exodus; Here we see God speaking to Moses and instructing him to get a lamb without blemish. He was to sacrifice this lamb and sprinkle its blood on the door post of their homes. They were to prepare the slain lamb as a meal as they prepared to leave the land of Egypt. That blood was to serve as a Passover symbol and a symbol of exemption as the angel of death would breeze through Egypt.

“And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, about midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt: and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the first born of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts…. But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel”

In verse 7, it is clear that God wanted to make a distinction between the Egyptians and Israel. Let’s now examine Exodus 12; 1-13;“And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying…Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying… they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: .…Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: … and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it…and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S Passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt”

The blood is the symbol of exemption from death, tear, and sorrow. The blood of the lamb without blemish is a typology of the blood of Jesus, which is described in 1 peter 1:18-19.

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things…. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” This blood was shed on Calvary to exempt us from death. He came to give life, and life in abundance (John 10:10). If you are saved and redeemed by the blood of Jesus, then you can appropriate by faith the covering of the blood of Jesus for your total protection.

As you go out this week, the blood of Jesus will speak mercy over you and preserve your life. You will not be a victim of darkness and violence.
I hope you have said a big amen to that. See you next week!
