The power of your expectation

“They looked unto HIM and were lightened and their faces were not ashamed,” Psalm 34:5. “For surely there is an end and thine expectation shall not be cut off,” Proverbs 23:18.

The Word of God declares in Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” One of the dynamic products of our faith in God is positive expectation. Faith always incubates positive expectation. Hope is defined by someone as ‘a positive expectation of something good happening to you.’ Faith is never strong without hope. Hope for positive expectation is a powerful tonic for faith. As strong as faith is, faith is lazy, latent and indolent without positive expectation. When God said let there be light, there was light to the extent that God said the light was good. God was expecting nothing, but what He called into existence to happen.

When we pray, we are required to exhibit positive expectation because Jesus said in Matthew 7: 7-8: “Ask and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh, receiveth and he that seeketh, findeth and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” In 1Kings18, as Elijah was praying for rain to fall, he sent his servant to go and check. He was expecting nothing, but rain. And when the servant said there was something like a small hand in the cloud, Elijah announced that torrential rain was going to fall. Expectation has always been the womb for manifestation. God has promised that your expectation shall not be cut off because the desire of the righteous shall be granted. Proverbs 10:24 “but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.” The man at the gate called Beautiful; Blind Bartimeus and the Woman with the issue of blood all expressed positive expectation.

The Word declares that: “The just shall live by faith.” Simply put, all of us who are of faith are required to live daily in positive expectation. When we trust in the Lord, we should believe that daily, God would load us with His benefits. Psalm 68:19 “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.” God’s mercies and provisions are new every morning. So, on a daily basis, we should ask for and expect our daily provisions, miracles, blessings and breakthroughs with strong expectation. When you expect nothing to happen, nothing happens. We prophesy that your expectation shall become manifestation. Psalm 9:18 “For the needy shall not always be forgotten, the expectation of the poor shall not perish forever.” Ephesians 3:20: “Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the Power that worketh in us.” Psalm 27:13: “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. What do you expect today? Expect something good and it will happen to you!

Prayer: Father God, I thank You for You are the God that daily loads me with Your benefits. Your Mercy towards me is new every morning. I position myself to receive my daily miracles and blessings. Father, You are my expectation and my expectation shall never be cut off. I will always expect something good to happen to me, for surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. Amen.
