Preparing for an enduring joy
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy” (Jn 16: 20).
An enduring joy devoid of sorrow is what God Almighty promises to His children who keep to His commandment. He said that they shall rejoice, when the people of the world are sorrowing. But if you are not rejoicing now in accordance with God’s promise, then I want to assure you that the time to favour Zion has come. The time to make you rejoice has come; for God has determined to give you joy.
What you are passing through now may have given rise to the thought that you have been doomed to sorrow forever. But I am assuring you to the contrary, because God has set out a special programme to bring you out from sorrow into His glorious liberty, where you will experience joy unspeakable. At that programme, there shall be rain of blessing that will bring complete joy to the participants and all traces of sorrow, disappointment, grief and mourning that have dominated the people’s mind in this present day will become a story of the past.
Indeed, it will surely happen because there will be a divine visitation and God will speak to your situation and there shall be transformation and your sorrow shall be turned to joy. And through the visitation, yokes shall be broken; diseases shall be cured, sicknesses shall be healed and the afflicted shall be delivered, old life of sin and wickedness shall be made anew with life filled with the Spirit of God and grace to live above sin.
Maybe you are experiencing sorrow now, but I want to let you know that God may have allowed you to experience it all these days in order to make you realise the importance and sweetness of joy and crave it. But when the set time to grant you joy comes, He will not stay a jot beyond it. This weekend is God’s set time, when He will turn your sorrow to joy. Beloved, nobody will go home with sorrow, for it is going to be joy all over. Those that are poor in Spirit shall go home with assurance of heaven, the lame shall walk, the blind see and the deaf shall have the yoke of deafness broken.
Now, having gotten the knowledge of this outstanding visitation and its accompanying blessings, what then shall be your preparation?
Amos 4:12 says, “Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel”
We are instructed by the scriptural context above to prepare for this visitation because our God, the King of kings is coming to meet us with abundance blessing. The Sovereign King Who rules in the spiritual and physical has informed us about His visitation. And if that is the case, what then shall be our preparation? How shall we set ourselves and houses in order for this visitation? It is important to understand that whatever preparation is expected from us, must be such that will make Him give us attention at His coming. If there is no resounding welcome for Him, there may be no reverberating blessing for us. Thus, we must do everything to please Him on arrival, so that we shall be appreciated by Him.
Habakuk 1: 13 says, “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?”
The eyes of the Lord are too holy to behold sin, which is contrary to His nature, offensive to His will and unacceptable to all He stands for which is Holiness and purity. Therefore, courtesy demands that in our preparation, we must conform to His nature in order to allow His eyes behold us. God has the nature of holiness void of all pollution, in His essence, and in all His laws, which are holy and just and good. And as God is holy, so must we be in order to meet His approbation and enjoy His presence. We must separate from all defilement, and entirely be consecrated to Him and be obedient to all His laws.
1PT 1: 15-16 says, “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
To receive from God in this His coming, we must put on the garment of holiness within and without, and above all, we must let others know of His coming. These we ought to do now that God has remembered us and has promised to visit and turn our sorrow to joy. For we are very sure His visit will change our lives and make us better, because when He comes into a situation, there is always a solution.
We must lift the hands which hang down, make straight path for our feet and restrain ourselves from evil, so that we shall not be found wanting at His arrival. We must not allow corruption to spring up in our heart and trouble our whole body, for such will prevent us from being partakers of His blessing at His appearing.
Whatever is defective cum sinful should be restored to soundness. Same thing should be applied to whatever that is feeble in our faith or hope and whatever evil tendency there is in our hearts, should be strengthened and amended, lest it should become worse, and thus hinder us from seeing Him.
Heb. 12-14 says, “Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”
If you want to see God and be blessed at His coming, you must endeavour to wholesomely keep to His tenets, particularly as they apply to sanctification without which no one shall see the Lord. So, in your preparation to receive blessing at His coming, you must not lay claim to holiness while you are not at peace with your neighbour. A Christian must be of peaceful as well as pious character to be qualified for blessing from God. This is because a temperament of seeking peace with all is eminently suited unto the philosophy of blessing. A person who claims to be holy but is ready for strife and contention, who is easily provoked, and retains long a sense of injuries, is acting contrary to the doctrine of holiness and will not see the Lord when He comes to bless His people. Holiness toward God must be in equal measure with peacefulness toward man. This is the absolute necessity of holiness that attracts blessedness, as long as the Scripture is concerned, for without it no eye shall see the Lord.
Beloved, this weekend God is coming in His Majesty to address the sorrow of His people in the Special programme titled, ‘From Sorrow to Joy.’ This divine visitation will definitely and positively affect the lives of all participants for, all sorrow shall turn to joy. Therefore, everybody must be prepared to receive God’s blessing at this programme. There is no doubt that after that day, our lives shall never be the same again. The dumb shall speak; lame shall walk, blind shall see and the afflicted delivered. If we could prepare to receive human beings, the preparation for God should be higher. If we believe that God is higher than the President, we must therefore prepare to honour Him in a special way. We must not come alone, as that will amount to selfishness. We must all go out to invite people that are deaf, insane, blind, afflicted, etc. When we invite them with faith and believe that God will heal them, I’m assuring you my God will give answer to their problems.
It is no longer in doubt what our God can do. This is because testimonies are everywhere to attest to what He can do.
Mt 9:32 -33 says, “As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel”
In the Scriptures above, it was very clear that wherever our Lord Jesus Christ went during His earthly sojourn, He was always greeted with multitude of afflicted people and He healed them. Those that have knowledge of His visitation went about inviting people to come and the people they invited did not regret honouring the invitation. Likewise, you are expected to go about inviting people for this crusade as a matter of preparation. And in so doing, God will see your good work and bless you.
Rev. 22: 12- 13, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last”
Christ is talking to you. He says He is coming to establish comfort and support for His followers. So, take advantage of this visitation and do the will of God and prosper.
