Centre holds lecture on promoting space technology
The Centre for Space Technology Development (CSTD), is organising a lecture to examine the role of the media in promoting space technology in developing nations.
This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Mr Gabriel Omozuwa, Head, Media Department of the centre.
“The media is a strong ally in the bid to maximize benefits of research findings so, CSTD Special Lecture usually draw attention of the press to evolving issues in Space Science and Technology.
“The thematic focus of this edition is `Space Science and Technology: Examining the Roles of the Press towards its Evolution, Promotion and Educational benefits in Developing Nations”, it said.
According to the statement, the lecture, coming up on Sept. 20, in Abuja, will be delivered by Dr Felix Ale, Head, Media and Corporate Communications, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the centre recently organised a two-day conference which focussed on developing indigenous space technology.
NAN reports that the CSTD is a subsidiary of NASRDA, founded in 1999 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to develop Nigeria’s space infrastructure.
