Turkish Airlines jet diverts to Delhi over bomb threat
All 148 passengers and crew were immediately evacuated after the plane landed safely in New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
“Crew saw message on bathroom mirror that bomb in cargo hold… Plane will be inspected for explosives,” the airport’s chief spokesman Saptarshi Sanyal told AFP by text message.
Local media reports said no explosive had been found after the plane was diverted to an isolated bay at the airport.
In March, another Turkish Airlines flight flying from Istanbul to Brazil made a similar emergency landing in Morocco after the crew found a written note in one of the plane’s toilets warning of a bomb.
